LNG has been recognized as a clean alternative to diesel fuel in high horsepower motors and has been successfully used in that capacity on a test basis. There is opportunity for it's use in over the road trucking, large haul trucks, locomotives, and in other application that utilize diesel motors. The technology is present, but the infrastructure is not highly developed. Using LNG within Wyoming's energy extraction industries might be beneficial to the economy as well as the environment. It is a "local" fuel that has benefits in terms of reduced emissions. This effort an authentic partnership with 50% of the funds coming from the private sector and 50% from the public sector.
