Reclamation of disturbed lands involves returning land altered by development back to conditions consistent with its natural state or economically useful purpose. Reclamation efforts may involve restoring soils, vegetation, and waterways from the effects of development such as mining, oil and gas drilling, temporary roads, and dams. The purpose of this initiative it to develop an understanding of the disturbances across the state that are considered low, medium and high priority for each state agency, and high-priority areas for multiple agencies. Identified disturbances and/or unreclaimed lands will be depicted in a digital GIS mapping format which may illustrate focus areas across the state (reference Initiative A2 - Energy Atlas GIS Decision Support Tool.)
High priority disturbances and/or un-reclaimed sites will be identified for improved coordination.
